Help Us Contact YouGSRA is an all-volunteer organization with a very small budget. In order to quickly communicate with our members, we rely heavily on electronic communication methods, such as Facebook, this website and e-mails.
Several things cause some e-mails to be undeliverable or blocked from final delivery. Here are some things you can do to help ensure you continue to receive information from GSRA.
1 - Have you changed e-mail addresses or providers? When your e-mail address changes please update your Profile on myGSRA.com. You should change both your e-mail address and your User Name. GSRA recommends that members use their e-mail address as their User Name.
2 - Are you not getting e-mails from GSRA? (Part 1) If you are not getting e-mails from us it may be because you have messages from us blocked or treated as SPAM. Some e-mail software moves incoming mail from unrecognized senders to a SPAM or Junk Mail folder. Check these folders. If you find mail from [email protected] in these folders, please add us to your list of approved senders.
You can check to make sure GSRA mail will get though by sending a test message to [email protected] with the words "Test Message" in the Subject line and body of the message. Make sure you send this message from the e-mail account you want to have associated with your membership at myGSRA.com. You should receive an automatic reply message within 5 minutes. Other than the automated response, no further response will be sent from GSRA. These automated responses are for you to use in testing your SPAM filters.
4 - Are you not getting e-mails from GSRA? (Part 2) If you have not received an e-mail from GSRA the last 60 days and you have verified that the messages are not being blocked as SPAM or Junk Mail, it may be because your email address is obsolete or inaccurate in your GSRA membership record. Please verify that we have a correct e-mail address for you by checking and updating your Profile on myGSRA.com. If the one on file is incorrect, please update the record. If your e-mail address in your Profile is correct, or if you cannot login to myGSRA.com, send a test message to [email protected] with the words "E-mail Help" in the Subject line and your full name in the body of the message. Make sure you send this message from the e-mail account you want to have associated with your membership at myGSRA.com. You should receive an automatic reply message within 5 minutes. One of our volunteer webmasters will respond to your e-mail by updating your Profile. Your updated email address will be included in your record as your new Username (ID) and e-mail address. Please, make sure you have exhausted all other measures before resorting to this approach.
5 - Are you using a State of Georgia e-mail address? Please do not use a State of Georgia or State agency e-mail address for your GSRA e-mail address. In many agencies, it is considered inappropriate to use State resources to receive personal e-mails. We would like to avoid any future problems for you or the Association.
We strongly encourage you to use your personal e-mail address to receive information from GSRA. If you don't have Internet service at home, we suggest you establish a free account with Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail or other internet service. Mail on these accounts can be checked from lots of places including public libraries. Even if your agency does not allow you to receive personal e-mails addressed to your State e-mail address, many State agencies will allow employees to check these personal accounts from their work computers. |
